VEHICLE SOURCING GUIDE SUBARU
Subaru Impreza & Forester Parts
Impreza and Forester span many generations and configurations. Share the car's exact identification before comparing parts.
Start with generation and market
Record model year, production month if available, full chassis/model code, body style, trim, engine, transmission, and market (Japanese domestic or another market). Model-year labels and equipment can vary by market.
For a Japanese-market vehicle, the frame/model code on its identification plate and chassis/frame number may be more useful than a North American-style VIN. If the car has an engine, transmission, or suspension swap, note what is original and what changed.
Use part numbers and configuration details
Provide the complete OEM number from the part, label, or reliable catalog record, including suffixes and supersession information. If no number is available, share clear images of labels, plugs, mounting points, dimensions, and the part installed on the vehicle.
For Impreza requests, distinguish body style and trim, including WRX or STI where applicable. For Forester requests, include generation and trim. Engine family alone is not a reliable fitment identifier: equipment, emissions market, transmission, production changes, and drivetrain can affect the correct part.
Details by part type
- Engine and turbo components: engine code, market, production date, connector/sensor details, and included accessories.
- Transmission and drivetrain: gearbox code/type, drivetrain, and any known swaps. Confirm ratios and connectors before purchase when relevant.
- Suspension and brakes: generation, trim, front/rear, left/right, and modifications. Record casting or label numbers and useful measurements.
- Body, lighting, and interior: body style, market, trim/color code, side, connector type, and photos of clips and mounting points.
Review condition and market-specific fitment
Ask for current photos of the actual part, labels, wear, corrosion, damage, test evidence when available, and a clear list of included components. A part listed for a North American Impreza or Forester is not automatically suitable for a Japanese-market vehicle, or vice versa.
Subaru's North American parts catalog can help identify some North American applications. It is not a substitute for confirming a JDM vehicle by its exact model/frame code and OEM number.
Used-part condition, supplier availability, export eligibility, shipping method, and import requirements are reviewed case by case. We do not imply that any item is in stock.
Send a Subaru sourcing request
Share model, year and production month, full model/frame code, market, trim, engine and transmission, OEM number if known, requested quantity and side, acceptable condition, destination country/postal code, and photos of labels, connectors, and mounting points.
Request an Impreza or Forester part. Shops can submit a multi-line request through the shop inquiry form. We will review what is identifiable and confirm any proposed match and quote before purchase.
